This is an excerpt of an unpublished blag I wrote it on the morning of February 25th:
I had tragedy turn into triumph as I ran out of milk this morning while assembling my cereal.
And in my books this would qualify as a tragedy, as this I believe this is the first time EVER I have run out of milk during cereal time. I ask, does anyone really like too little milk in their bowl? Hands please? (Can't see hands)
Sigh-ness for dry-ness.
Adding to this was the cereal situation itself. Indeed a dry situation with minimal a) Frosted Flakes (one of my top 4 crls though), with maybe 1 bowl left in the box, most likely less and, b) Crispix in tha' house which I had bought after the stunning realisation that I had never had it before. After 2 previous bowls of Crispix, I knew I was no fan.
Of course though now was the perfect time...
I thought an ideal mix... potentially... together...
I poured.
Crispix aplenty on the bottom half (I know they float & I wanna finish this box *still have the unfinished box) and Frosted Flakes gracing me with its presence on the top. I knew I didn't need sugar.
They looked good in the bowl together...
and at time of doing this I knew nothing of my milk situation. I know I didn't have any chocolate sauce & so I haven't been having choco milk.
There should be no question about the milk... my 1%.
- Actions:
Fridge open, milk grab, lift, weird, hold, feels light, gentle shake, question:
"Could I be out of milk?"
Of course I poured a Healthy bowl or cereal! Boo-yah!
Whatevs... I knew it'd be close.
Milk to cereal, milk to cereal, more milk, miiiiilllllkkkk....
It was not close.
I crushed the two cereals together in my milk puddle in a bowl, only to stumble across a new dream cereal mix.
People!
A NEW DREAM CEREAL MIX!!
I FOUND IT!!
UP THERE next to Harvest Crunch... AHEAD of Frosted Mini-Wheats! LIGHTER! And so so very very good. VERY good.
Have I sold it yet?
So now please note:
a) Crispix sucks on it's own. It's no good:(
b) Frosted Flakes remain strong and are an excellent cereal mix;)
c) Watch your milk levels & check especially before upcoming (morning) usage, not last minute as I did... I'm a lucky guy though;)
also
d) not to judge me, but to thank me for me wisdomamazing cereal info insight.
Aight... That would be brutal if I left it at that... ugh.
-
I am leaving it at that. I will update so soon. SO soon.
JK
p.s. When you are writing (HAND-writing - everybody still does that, right?), do you ever, maybe occasionally, have your writing look like one of your parents?!?
That's happened to me a few times. It's crazy.

On a side-note, my bowl is empty.

(this bowl is empty)
WHAT kind of corner (grocery) store only has Raspberry-Vanilla ice cream?!?
Well they didn't have just that flavor, but for the 1.5L size... ONLY rasp-van! Full-on disappointing (yes still, because I didn't buy any & I refuse to get over it tonight).
I thought, could they be sold out??? Low on ice cream?
NO! THAT ICE CREAM FREEZER SHELF WAS FULL!
This was not a freezer that was sold out of things - it had FULL stock... but not of ANY nice normal basic straight-forward vanilla ice cream. The closest I there was a (much too small) tub of "Vanilla Bean".
WTF!?
I want no beans involved with my ice cream - not even jelly beans (which I always love but never have)!
So with the corner store... you know...
...I try to stay loyal...
...avoid the big stores... It makes no sense the one on the corner is closer...
(but) COME ON!
...they have to help themselves... jeez.
Just order the basics & know that rasp-van is no basic... we'll try this again soon.
Alright,FIN

Tweaking For Ultimate Results - Pt. 1
Alright people - now it's serious.
Obviously as I continue on life's bitchin' path, the important need to seperate the best from the best of the rest in my daily livings becomes more all the more apparent and important to me.
I am an appreciator of variety, but knowing what is the absolute best for me, who doesn't want that? Muuah!
So what do you do when you've narrowed it down to your 2 favourite toothpastes?
You gotta figure it out - you gotta brush it out!
I had to find out which was my NUMBER 1 TOOTHPASTE and there was no more time to waste!!!
Of course I had tried many different kinds of toothpaste throughout my years, but here in the Big Smoke, shopping for my bathroom cupboards, I had narrowed it down. I had found my final 2, but the problem... I never have more than 1 thing of toothpaste in my place at once!
This was born to be a battle of the 2. I didn't even know what was gonna happen
Understandbly they both are fantastic - you can't really go wrong with either one. And nicely, they provide differences from the other.
One foams up & provides a very fulfilling brushing leaving you feel open, fresh, and clean.
While the other sneaks in little mini breath strips to the 'paste (I don't like that word). Gives not as much foaming, is a little more refreshing than the other, but really, does not have as much foaming. Foaming is convincing stuff. Also this one has a bit more of a mint-y snap.
The 2 finalists (which I've said, and will remind, are BOTH fantastic & I would happily endorse) are:

Aquafresh Extreme Clean
AND

Colgate Maxfresh with mini breath strips
So any Thoughts? Suggestions?
(additional toothpaste suggestions are accepted)
So in that case, GET READY!!! In just a couple of days (48hrs!!) I will reveal to the WORLD, my NUMBER 1 INTERNATIONAL ALLTIME TOOTHPASTE 2007!!! (there's no sache)
This is a very exciting beginning to 2007 & I'm sure everyone is pretty anxious to hear my results.
So see you then in a couple days!!!

And Finally My Top 6 Albums of -ahem- 2006 (was there a deadline?)
Hello everybody...
Now I believe everyone that checks out the Spill here knows that I am a pretty big music guy (not that I've particularly shown it on this here blag, but I have had a few clips here & there... or just on the left-hand side).
So now finally my top 6 music picks from 2006...
With my heart tucked in the sweet sounds churned from a guitar (preferably with drums, bass, and vox) making "rock music", I (thankfully) am very aware and very happy that there is so much other great music from all genres (as I'm especially blessed to learn from my worldly landlords - always a treat). So it's impossible to really have an "ultimate" top list, but regardless, here what I'm saying you should get from 2006:
(reviews are linked to album title)
6. Cat Power - The Greatest (great soothing acoustic-y music - great to unwind and relax to!)
5. TV on the Radio - Return To Cookie Mountain (fantastic & definitely worthwhile, but it is a hard first listen - but most very worthwhile!)
4. Mastodon - Blood Mountain (amazing innovative hard rock - it's always great when a band with the same tools as all the others makes something sound so new!!)
3. LCD Soundsystem - 45:33
This is basically tied with my #2... I don't really know when is a good time not to have this on! It's available only on itunes (bummer - but you can download it for free from singingfish) & was intended to be for running (it's sponsored by Nike), but it's so great that you really don't need to be running or exercising (although it doesn't hinder). It is a 45min continuous mix of different paced electronica music and obviously I very highly recommend!! The best background & earphone music I had on all year!
2. Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury
Yes... the Clipse are back! Idealistically it's a pretty cliched rap album (money/drugs/hos) but the rhymes are fantastic (any rapper that spits an anti-JayZ line like, "I ain't coming atcha quote, unquote "Famous Rapper"/ Who turn positive, try to tell ya how to live" is onto something good in my eyes), and the beats are bar-none. It's the Neptunes again providing the background (rumour has it more Chad than Pharrell - cause of it's dark sound) and really the album is a great great listen from start to finish. The single Mr. Me Too isn't even one of the best 5 songs on the disc! Help your inner gangsta and buy this album!
And my Number 1 Album for 2006 is....
1. The Replacements - Don't You Know Who I Think I Was? (The Best Of the Replacements)
I know that this is probably pretty anti-climatic as a band that's been broken up since '91, being at the very top of such a prestigious list such as mine, but this best-of introduced me to a band that I had only heard about (and usually in regards to as being an influence for bands that I liked). It's a 20 song chronologically done best-of that shows a band start off as a bunch of bratty punks evolve into hidden pop rock formulators... and by the end they're almost balladeers. I can say that I became pretty obsessed with about 12 of these songs will mixing it up with the other 8 that I found to be first-rate. "Alex Chilton" woke my rock n' roll ears up, "Left of the Dial" is one of the best heartbreak songs ever, if only beaten by their "Within Your Reach" or "Answering Machine". And "Message to the Boys", (one of the 2 new songs on the disc) is easily one of the best pop rock songs I heard all year (traditional in form & amazingly executed in stuck in your head!)! And I haven't even mentioned "I Will Dare" which is one of the best songs I have ever heard period!!! Geez... this could go on and on, and I'm sure that by now you get the picture.
So if you want something fantastic that doesn't sound like Coldplay backwash or the Killers, pick this up!

I was actually putting the final touches on my Top 6 Music Pick of 2006... when internet gave way & had to quit. This is frustrating still. Maybe one of my worst moments of 2007. Keep tally.
I will say though, the WORST moment of 2007 (so far) was this past week, when, while on my walk to the subway I stepped on the skeleton of a bird.
Again, keep tally.
Now who has had worse than that?

2006 Was Yesterday
The New Year's Eve.
The Parties.
(cue dead line dial tone)
My favourite part about New Year's parties is seeing people who are SO pumped about New Year's. SO PUMPED ("I can't believe this is New Year's! This is awesome!"). Sadly these people do exist. In other countries, probably, but here, definitely. Now please understand, I do like New Year's - I like January 1 more - and I have nothing against people wanting to have a good time, BUT the people that are givin'er and are all reved up about New Year's... how sad.
Everyone is all so so super super excited, drinking, being loud, awesomeness, and then the countdown comes... 4, 3, 2, 1.......
(the big new year's hooray!)
...and then awkwardness.
"So um... yah! It's the new year! Wow! Two thousand and seeeevvvveeeenn... I'm old... where are you guys going... oh really it's raining out?".
People getting wasted & wrecked for that!?! (Oh did you pay cover where you went?")
I hold my labelmaker set to print "SAD" on all those people's foreheads. One at a time. They will all wait in a line.
On a good note, I heard that all the parties that I didn't go to were great! Lots of girls & music & drinking & weed... dude I so should have been there...
Whatevs... didn't happen - I woke up today at 11:40 NOT feeling like crap & not next to some big city leper-woman who just wanted some fun! I can tell you NOT having done that, that that would be NO fun folks. No thank you!
So resolutions (still aiming for a slightly shorter Spill):
- the gym: this is a popular New Year's resolution & I will contribute to it's popularity - I too (like the other millions) will try to go to the gym more. It's almost sexy time & I need not be late!
- jobbage (aka "job"): I will give much more effort towards getting a better job. I've been getting restless, and I'm always trying to stay focused on looking forwards & up, so hopefully I can turn that into something this year. Oh, and I want to be on salary.
- work my creative muscle bone: Yes my creativity comes from a rare part inside me that is half muscle, and half bone - It needs me to be writing more and actually doing more... I'm seeing various archenemys o mine shoot by & I can not be here so stagnet!
- be healthier: this kind of goes with the gym thing, but I'm talking more about food. Basically I need to learn how to cook more things (and easy suggestions?)
So that's it for now...
More to follow including... year end lists... lemonheads concert... SanFran visit... and some pics...
